We spent the fourth of July at the Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. Loved the museum, especially the Cuban Missile Crisis special exhibit. The secretly recorded tapes of President Kennedy conferring with his cabinet as the crisis unfurled are absolutely fascinating and give tremendous insight into the intellectual and thoughtful deliberations of the Kennedy administration.
I know this is weird, but growing up we owned a 45 single record called Sing a Song of John F. Kennedy. I have zero musical ability and musical memory but for some reason I have remembered the verse and melody of that particular song for over 50 years. Check it out in the featured video – the tune really is quite catchy!
If you have never read Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy, pick up a copy. It truly is as relevant and inspirational today as it was almost 60 years ago!
Happy birthday Uncle Andy! And wishing everyone a wonderful 4th of July celebration!
Dare to be Great!
